The Biturbo 4.0-liter engine produces 469 horsepower for the C63 and 503 horsepower for the C63 S.

For 2016 the 3 Series received minor exterior styling updates including available LED headlights, revised suspension for improved handling and new interior trim. The 340i replaced the 335i as the top trim level, powered by a new turbocharged inline 6-cylinder producing 320 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. The lineup includes 320i, 328i and 328d diesel trim levels, all with rear-wheel drive or available xDrive all-wheel drive. The 330e iPerformance plug-in hybrid joined the lineup for 2016 .
2. BMW 3 Series　2016 Sales: 70,458　Vs. 2015: -25.5%

The second-best-selling Lexus model behind the RX crossover, the ES is front-wheel drive; a hybrid version is also offered, but all-wheel drive is not an option. The ES 350 gets motivation from a 268-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine, and the ES 300h combines a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor for a total system output of 200 horsepower.
3. Lexus ES　2016 Sales: 58,299　Vs. 2015: -10.3%

The 2017 E-Class Sedan boasts a new exterior design, a new luxurious interior and world-premiere technologies. Inside, a high-resolution display combines a wide navigation screen and a traditional gauge cluster integrated into a single unit behind the steering wheel. The steering wheel features two touch-sensitive control pads that respond to swiping motions, allowing the driver to control the infotainment system with thumb motions without removing hands from the wheel. The E-Class has a new turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produces 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, mated to a new 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission.
4. Mercedes-Benz E-Class　2016 Sales: 46,915　Vs. 2015: -5.7%

A replacement for the G sedan in the 2014 model year, the performance-oriented Q50 has standard rear-wheel drive as well as available all-wheel drive. For 2016 the Q50 2.0t joined the lineup, powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine producing 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, with available all-wheel drive. The Q50 Red Sport 400 also joined the lineup for 2016, powered by a twin turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The Q50 Hybrid Premium has a gas-electric system combining a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a 50-kW electric motor for a total output of 360 horsepower, rated at 34 mpg highway.
5. Infiniti Q50　2016 Sales: 44,007　Vs. 2015: +0.3%

The third-generation rear-drive Lexus IS debuted as a 2015 model with more aggressive styling. It is now offered in three trim levels defined by three engine choices: the IS 200t, the IS 300 AWD and the IS 350 with available all-wheel drive. The IS 200t has a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine producing 241 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The IS 300 AWD gets power from a 3.5-liter V6 producing 255 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, and the IS 350 has a 306-horsepower 3.5-liter V6.
6. Lexus IS　2016 Sales: 37,289　Vs. 2015: -19.7%
Slide 16 of 22: 2016 Sales: 37,156<br>Vs. 2015: -21.1%<br>Acura TLX sales were better than the luxury category overall early in 2016, but ended with a 21 percent drop for the year. The TLX debuted as a 2015 model, replacing the TL in the Acura lineup by combining sport-sedan performance with luxury refinement. Available in three different powertrain combinations, the standard engine is a 206-horsepower 2.4-liter unit combined with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with a torque converter. The available 3.5-liter V6 produces 290 horsepower when combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission, and is also offered with Acura’s Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive.
7. Acura TLX　2016 Sales: 37,156　Vs. 2015: -21.1%

The new A4 is unmistakably an Audi, although it possesses crisper styling, a new horizontal grille and sharply angled headlights. Power comes from a revised turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that now produces 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft or torque at 1900 rpm, combined with a new 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission with either front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive.
8. Audi A4　2016 Sales: 36,987　Vs. 2015: +16.2%
Slide 14 of 22: 2016 Sales: 35,763<br>Vs. 2015: -22.4%<br>One of four BMW models in the top 10 for 2016 luxury car sales, the 4 Series joined the BMW lineup for 2014 when the 4 Series Coupe and Convertible replaced the 2-door 3 Series variants. Then for 2015 BMW added the 4 Series Gran Coupe (which is actually a 4-door) sporting a coupelike profile. BMW just announced that the 2018 4 Series will go on sale in March 2017, with design updates to distinguish 4 Series cars from other BMW models. The 2018 4 Series Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe will be available as the 430i and 440i xDrive, with 430i xDrive and 440i arriving later. Updates include stiffer suspension, revised steering, new alloy wheels and new exterior colors.

Slide 13 of 22: 2016 Sales: 32,408<br>Vs. 2015: -26.6%<br>BMW’s midsize sport sedan, the 5 Series has been successful in this highly competitive market for dozens of years, but it took a 26 percent hit in sales for 2016. The current sixth-generation design debuted for 2011 and a new model just debuted at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, which should move sales in the right direction. This seventh-generation 5 Series makes extensive use of aluminum, magnesium and high-strength steel to improve handling while reducing weight. The 5 Series will be available in multiple configurations beginning with the 530i, 530i xDrive, 540i and 540i xDrive. The new 5 Series has the familiar BMW kidney grille with integrated twin circular LED headlights.
10. BMW 5 Series　2016 Sales: 32,408　Vs. 2015: -26.6%
　ということですが、ブランド別ではベンツが１位になっています。ＣとＥクラスがよく売れています。２位のＢＭＷ３シリーズの落ち込みが大きかったのがベンツを１位にさせた原因でしょう。
　この前も書きましたが、リースでの激しい競争の結果、３年落ちの中古では３シリーズの価格はかなり安く、新車を買うよりもこの３年落ちを買う方が賢いといえます。
　車は消耗品です。買ったその日から価値が下がっていきます。３年で３０%、５年で５０％以下に下がる「金食い虫」です。
　さらに、最近の車のテクノロジーはすごく、どんどん進化しています。購入して長く乗る時代ではないようにも思えます。リースで済ませて、新しいものを３年ごとに得る方が得策かもしれません。

　７５年前の２月１９日、当時のルーズベルト大統領は日系米国人の強制収容を認める大統領令に署名しました。
　日系人が敵国の支持者かもしれないという不安から、約１２万人の日系人が１０カ所の収容所に送られこれより３カ月前、日本は米ハワイ州真珠湾に奇襲攻撃を行い、米国は第２次世界大戦に参戦していました。

　日本で2月24日の金曜日から始まる「プレミアムフライデー」を前に、各社の取り組みが本格化しています。
プレミアムフライデーとは、原則月末の金曜日は午後3時ごろまでに退社時間を繰り上げ、買い物や観光などの時間を創出しようというもの。主目的は消費喚起で、働き方改革も兼ねています。毎月の最終金曜日に早く会社を終えてごはん食べ、買い物してもらいましょうということです。

　週刊ダイヤモンドにこんな記事が。
 日本企業は米国など海外でビルやゴルフ場を買いまくった。ロックフェラーセンターやペブルビーチゴルフ場。羨望のまなざしで見ていた優良物件を法外な値段で買い漁った。バブルが崩壊すると二束三文で手放し、カネを米国に撒き散らして撤退した。
 金融の国際化が囃され、海外案件に融資するのが新しい金融と考えた銀行は買収を後押した。
 ゴールドマン・サックスといえば、政権に人材を送り込み、今や世界最強の投資銀行と言われるが、当時は苦境。支えたのが住友銀行。株を引き受け資本提携したが経営に関与することはできなかった。カネだけ出す「沈黙の株主」で、ゴールドマンが立ち直ると提携は解消された。
 ウエスティングハウスはゼネラルエレクトリックと並ぶ米国原子力産業の双璧。スリーマイル島の事故から逆風にさらされ、売りに出されてＷＥＣを買ったのが東芝。
 買収しても経営の実権は握れなかった。一種の治外法権、本社の眼が届かなかい米国事業でとんでもない損失が生じた。
 責任者のロデリックは本社の常務と原発事業の社内カンパニーの社長を解任された。辞めれば本人は一件落着だが、東芝は火ダルマ。ロデリックは米国の原子力産業を渡り歩き、東芝が買収したＷＥＣを足掛かりに米国事業を取り仕切っていた。東芝の原子力事業は志賀会長が総責任者だが、現場を仕切るロデリック氏が実権を持ち、志賀会長も口出しできない、などと言われていた。
　ＷＥＣの買収時には丸紅も実はかかわっていましたが、丸紅はタイミング良く？ダイエーの買収問題が上がってきたので、この買収劇から降りたのです。
　仮に丸紅がこのまま関わっていたら丸紅も潰れる運命にあったことでしょう。

　売り上げ良いので、気分も良いのですが、不安材料はたくさん、あります。まあ常に不安はあり、それを解消していくことで、さらに売り上げを上げていかないといけない。
　店の内装手直しもすこしやっていますし、決して満足しないことが大事。使いやすいように効率良く使えるように変えていかないといけません。まあ、今月は新しい店になって最高の月になりそうです。今週も稼ぐだけです！

ハワイ島は超金持ちのお忍び場所

　夕方からトミーさんとその仲間とワインバーで飲み会。なかなか面白い話を聴きました。ハワイ島で何かビジネスができるかどうかを模索しているわけですがね。 　まず、ハワイ島に別荘を持っている人のリスト、私の予想通りアメリカを代表するVIPの名前が挙がっています。 　ビル・ゲイツ、マイクロソフトの創業者で世界第2位の金持ちですね。マイケル・デル、今は落ち目ですが、DELLの創業者。ハリソン・フォードなどハリウッドの俳優たちもかなり所有しているようです。そのハワイでの資産は10ミリオンではなく、数十ミリオンのようです。10ミリオンの物件はざらにあります。 　日本人でも某パチンコメーカーの社長も推定＄１６Mの家を所有しているとか、また有名歌舞伎俳優やキムタクなどもお忍びでハワイ島に来るようです。彼らが物件を所有しているかどうかは不明ですけどね。 ちなみにそうした超高額物件も2006年を境に急落しました。＄５０Mが＄１５とかに下がったようですが、売った人もいるし、そうでない人もいるでしょう。 　有名人でも正月にハワイに来る人は多いですね。よく朝のワイドショーでインタビューを受けるような下っ端芸能人はオアフに’行くわけです。そこでゴルフするとかでしょうが、ランクの上の芸能人はそういうにぎやかでマスコミに騒がれるところを避けてハワイ島に来るのです。 　冬場になると、コナ空港はそうしたセレブのプライベートジェットで満杯になり、置き場所がないため、満杯後は横のマウイの空港を利用するようです。それだけの大物たちが、広大な敷地に住むわけですね。 　ただし、そういう人はお抱えのシェフがいるでしょうから、店に食べに行くようなことはしませんね。ということは、＄１０M以下のそこそこ金持ちや＄１M程度の普通の金持ち、いわゆる小金持ちをターゲットにしたビジネスは成り立つということですね。 　そして彼の別荘のある近くに店を構えてそこそこビジネスをしている人もいるようです。なんとなく話を聞いてみると、日本食といわれるレストランの数は１０もなし。韓国料理屋はたぶんなし、ハングルを見ませんからね。 　そして美味しい日本食を出している店は１つか２つしかないようです。Buckheadで鍛えた私の腕が通用する可能性はありそうですかね。 　そういうそこそこ金持ちの場合は、店に行くという

 Veinteseis de Mayo (Viernes) 　やはり今週のピークは水曜日でしたね。昨日はかなり空いた感じでした。パティオは一時満席になったものの、中はガラガラでした。 　予定通り、昨日の朝はコンクリートを練ってミニ工事していましたが、重いので２袋が限界でした。また明日にでもやるかと。まあ汗はかいたのでOK！ 　たまたまZillowという不動産のサイトを見ていたら、売り出ししていない家でも「推定価格」が表示されています。それも家の前からしっかり写真まで撮ってあります。もちろん航空写真で真上からのものもありました。情報はお金だ！の世界ですね。うちは３エーカーの敷地で67万ドルに値上がりしていますね。昨年、ちょうど１０カ月前に６軒お隣で同じサイドの家が５５万ドルで売れていましたが、この家は裏庭がない。そういうことも分かります。メトロアトランタの不動産はうなぎ登り？　資産持つものはさらに富むわけです。 トヨタのＴＡＣＯＭＡ２４年モデルが公開されました。次は４Ｒｕｎｎｅｒが公開されます。同じシャーシーです。 　 一時140円をつけた為替は少し下げて139.66円で動いています。ゴールド少し戻して1953ドルです。原油も昨日下げましたが、今は少し戻し72ドル台。株はアジア上げ、欧州微下げ、NYはまちまち。まあ明日から夏休みです。やる気はない。来週木曜日が期限の債務上限問題ですが、歩み寄るしかないので、解決します。ここで上げるかと。 　しかしこの問題が解決しても、米国経済は’第１四半期で３７％の企業が業績を落とし、第２四半期でこれが拡大するなら、また下げるのでないかと。実質はリセッション入りのようです。二極分化が進み、今は富裕層の消費が頼りのようです。社会人になったばかりのZ世代とかお金はないですよ。米国民は貧しくなっている、これが現状です。 英国は昨年、約６０万人の移民を受け入れています。首相は多過ぎと言っていますが、その中には香港とウクライナが含まれています。労働市場は人手不足なので、規制はできないようです。 　しばらくなかったのに、茨城と千葉で震度５の地震が起きています。 この雨雲はあまり関係なし。今日はやや曇りで７９度ですから、最高ですね。 次の大きな雨は来週の日曜日の４０％です。 日本は台風がどうなるかです。私、雨男？なわけないんですが。 　日曜日の準備
